Komodo Liveaboard Packages: Diving & Leisure Trip Options

Last updated: July 15, 2026 8 min read

Komodo liveaboard packages are 2-to-6-day boat trips through Komodo National Park, combining scuba diving or leisure cruising with cabin accommodation aboard. Shared cabins run IDR 3.55M–12.5M per person; private charters IDR 52M–280M per boat. Rates exclude the IDR 650,000 park entry fee, and dry season (April–November) offers the best conditions.

Since 2015, komodoislandliveaboard.com has run specialist liveaboard voyages through Komodo National Park as part of the Komodo Luxury group. We are not a booking aggregator reselling third-party cabins — we operate the trips, brief the dives, and know which sites fire on which tide. This page lays out every package type, real rates, and the itinerary logic so you can book the right trip the first time.

Types of Komodo Liveaboard Packages

There are two package families, and choosing correctly matters more than price. A diving package puts you on 3–4 dives per day at current-swept sites like Castle Rock and Batu Bolong — built for certified divers who came for the fish. A leisure package skips scuba for snorkeling, Komodo dragon treks on Rinca, Pink Beach, Padar Island sunrise, and Manta Point snorkel drifts — ideal for families and non-divers.

  • Diving liveaboard — 3D2N to 6D5N, 8–14 dives, nitrox available, Advanced Open Water strongly recommended for northern sites.
  • Leisure liveaboard — 2D1N to 4D3N, land excursions, snorkeling, photography stops, no certification needed.
  • Private charter — whole-boat exclusivity for either style, customizable route and departure date.

Package Rates & Duration Comparison

Prices below are per person for shared cabins and per boat for private charter, all departing Labuan Bajo (LBJ). The park entry fee of IDR 650,000 per person is added on top, along with a per-day quota levy introduced in April 2026.

Shared cabins suit solo divers and couples happy to join a mixed group of up to 12–16 guests. Private charter makes sense for families, dive clubs, or anyone wanting a fixed date and a bespoke route — see our Komodo Island liveaboard overview for the full fleet and cabin classes.

Sample 4-Day Diving Itinerary

Our most-booked Explorer package shows how a package flows across tides and sites. Currents dictate the running order, so exact timing shifts with the moon phase — this is representative.

DayMorningAfternoon / Night
Day 1Board LBJ, check dive at Siaba BesarBatu Bolong (slack tide), sunset at Kalong
Day 2Castle Rock, Crystal Rock (north)The Cauldron / Shotgun drift, night dive
Day 3Manta Point, Manta AlleyTatawa Besar, Makassar Reef
Day 4Gili Lawa sunrise trek, final diveCruise back, disembark LBJ

Northern sites (Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, The Cauldron) carry strong currents — 2–3 knots is normal, and reef hooks are standard kit. Depths run 5–30m, with the pelagic action typically at 12–25m. If you hold only Open Water, we route you toward calmer central and southern sites; read our Komodo dive sites guide before you pick a package.

What Every Package Includes

  • Air-conditioned cabin, all meals, snacks, tea/coffee, drinking water
  • Certified divemaster guiding (max 4 guests per guide on diving trips)
  • Tanks, weights, and unlimited air fills
  • Land excursions: Rinca or Komodo dragon walk, Padar viewpoint, Pink Beach
  • LBJ harbor transfers and dinghy tenders

Not included: IDR 650,000 park entry and conservation fees, dive equipment rental (IDR 250,000/day full set), nitrox fills, and flights to Labuan Bajo. Confirm exact inclusions per boat class on our liveaboard FAQ.

Best Time to Book a Komodo Liveaboard

The park runs year-round, but liveaboard diving peaks in the dry season, April to November, when seas are calmest and visibility reaches 20–30m. July to September is peak season — cabins on popular boats sell out 3–4 months ahead, so early booking is essential. Manta encounters at Manta Point and Manta Alley are reliable across the dry months, while the southern sites like Manta Alley come into their own from June onward as water cools and plankton blooms.

Why Book With komodoislandliveaboard.com

We have operated exclusively in Komodo since 2015 — this is the only water we run. That focus means our captains read Batu Bolong’s tide by eye, our guides know exactly where the mantas station at Karang Makassar, and our packages are timed to the currents rather than a generic calendar. As part of Komodo Luxury, we back every trip with local ground support in Labuan Bajo, maintained boats, and Rescue-certified crew. Compare our 3-day vs 6-day options if you’re unsure how long to go.

Message us on WhatsApp now to lock a peak-season cabin before it’s gone.
